Copy-Kitten is a pretty straightforward kid's story: a kitty becomes slightly dictatorial in his attempts to make everyone around him "better," thereby destroying all of their lives, but then (just in time) realizes that one of his existential presuppositions was immaturely formed and repents--
but another of the books is slightly more sinister.
It's about how two little kids wake up to hear a funny noise,
struggle to get dressed because their coordination isn't fully developed yet,
and end up saving a dog who was hidden in a box in their garage and naming him Chalky.
