Correct me if I'm wrong, but the fun thing about fishing is being down by the creek where it's pretty and cool, hanging out. The parts about impaling a grasshopper on your hook and then sticking your thumb in fish gills and trying to hold the slippery dope in your hands long enough to take a photo seems much less enticing to me, but the kids seem happy enough to do it. And there's also the relief after the moment when they put the fish back in the creek and worry for just a millisecond that it won't move, only to watch it flap into action and zoom off back into the current.
